Milo Transfer
Move a subscription to a new owner: signed acceptance links, history intact, payment method safely detached.
Installation
- Install and activate the free Milo Subscriptions plugin.
- Upload and activate Milo Transfer (Plugins → Add New → Upload).
- Enter your license key under Subscriptions → Licenses to enable updates.
Configuration
Let a subscription change hands: the recipient accepts by email, history stays intact, and the previous owner’s payment method is detached.
Under Subscriptions → Settings → General → Transfer:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable transfers | On/off switch. |
| Customers can start a transfer from their account | On/off switch. |
| Acceptance link expiry (days) | Numeric value. |
Customer transfers
Active subscribers see Transfer this subscription on their subscription page: they enter the recipient’s email, the recipient gets an acceptance link (valid N days), and on acceptance the subscription is reassigned. If the recipient has no account, one is created for them.
Admin transfers
Subscriptions → Transfers lists pending and completed transfers, lets you cancel pending ones, and offers Transfer a subscription: send an acceptance request, or reassign immediately without the email step.
Payment safety
On execution, the previous owner’s gateway identity (Stripe, Mollie, Square, PayPal) is detached so their card is never charged again; both parties are emailed, and the new owner is told to add a payment method before the next renewal.
Developer reference
milo_transfer_completed— Fires when a transfer executes, with old and new owner emails.milo_transfer_payment_meta_keys— Filter the gateway meta keys cleared on transfer.
