Milo All Products for Subscriptions

Add a “Subscribe & Save” option to any existing WooCommerce simple or variable product, so you can sell subscriptions without creating dedicated subscription products.

Installation

  1. Install and activate the free Milo Subscriptions plugin.
  2. Install and activate WooCommerce (this add-on requires it).
  3. Upload and activate Milo All Products for Subscriptions (Plugins → Add New → Upload).
  4. Enter your license key under Subscriptions → Licenses to enable updates.

Configuration

Under Subscriptions → Settings → General → All Products for Subscriptions:

Setting Description
Enable Subscribe & Save Global on/off switch. When off, the option no longer appears on the storefront, even on products where it is enabled.

Everything else is configured per product.

Enabling it on a product

Edit any simple product and look for the Subscribe & Save section on the General tab of the product data panel:

Field Description
Enable Subscribe & Save Offer a subscription option alongside the one-time purchase.
Discount (%) Percentage off the product price when the customer subscribes (0 to 100).
Billing interval Every, every 2nd, up to every 6th.
Billing period Day, week, month, or year.

For variable products, the same four fields appear on each variation, so every variation can have its own discount and schedule. Variations of a native Milo variable subscription do not get these fields (they already bill recurringly).

What customers see

On the product page, an eligible product shows a Purchase options box above the add to cart button with two radio choices: “One-time purchase” (selected by default) and “Subscribe & Save X% (every month)” (or “Subscribe (every …)” when no discount is set).

When the customer picks the subscribe option:

  • The discounted price is applied to the cart item.
  • The cart and checkout show the billing schedule (“Billing: Every month”) and the discount (“10% off”) under the item, and prices display as “price / period”.
  • A “Recurring total (every …)” row appears under the order total, with one row per distinct billing schedule in the cart.

At checkout

When the order is placed (classic or block checkout), the add-on creates a Milo subscription per Subscribe & Save line item, with the discounted price as the recurring amount, the chosen schedule, the order’s addresses and shipping, and the order’s payment method and token. If the parent order is already paid, the subscription is activated immediately.

Renewals are automatic when the gateway supports subscriptions. If it does not, or if “Turn off automatic payments” is enabled in the core settings, the subscription is set to manual renewal.

Payment gateways

If “Accept manual renewals” is disabled in the core settings, the checkout only offers gateways that can bill recurringly (subscription or tokenization support) whenever the cart contains a Subscribe & Save item. With manual renewals accepted, all gateways stay available.

FAQ

Does it work on subscription products? No. Subscription product types already bill recurringly, so the option is not shown on them.

Can the customer still buy one time? Yes. “One-time purchase” is always available and is the default choice.

Does the discount also apply to renewals? Yes. The recurring price stored on the subscription is the discounted price.

Billing modes

Requires WooCommerce. This add-on works in WooCommerce mode only, not in standalone (Stripe-driven) mode.
