Milo Cancellation Flows
Win back cancelling subscribers with retention offers: pause the subscription or a renewal discount, before the cancellation goes through.
Installation
- Install and activate the free Milo Subscriptions plugin.
- Upload and activate Milo Cancellation Flows (Plugins → Add New → Upload).
- Enter your license key under Subscriptions → Licenses to enable updates.
Configuration
Show a retention offer before a cancellation goes through. Works best with the cancellation survey enabled, so the offer follows the customer’s reason.
Under Subscriptions → Settings → General → Cancellation Flows:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Offer alternatives before cancelling | Customers see the retention offers after they confirm they want to cancel. |
| Offer to pause instead | On/off switch. |
| Pause length (months) | The subscription resumes automatically after this many months. |
| Offer a renewal discount | Requires the Milo Subscription Coupons add-on to apply the discount to renewals. |
| Discount (%) | Numeric value. |
| Discounted renewals | How many renewals the discount applies to. |
The retention screen
No page setup needed: the add-on intercepts the core cancel action after the survey and redirects to a “before you go” screen on the customer’s account with the offers you enabled.
Offers
- Pause instead: suspends the subscription for the number of months you configure, then resumes it automatically (Action Scheduler).
- Recurring discount: applies a percentage off the next N renewals through the Milo Coupons engine. This offer only shows when Milo Coupons is active.
Measuring saves
Each accepted offer is recorded on the subscription (_milo_cf_saved) and in a counters option, and fires milo_cancellation_flows_saved so Slack, Webhooks, or Analytics can track retention.
Developer reference
milo_cancellation_flows_saved— Fires when a customer accepts a retention offer instead of cancelling.
