Is the free core really free, or free for now?
Really free, and it stays that way. The engine is GPL and published on WordPress.org, which means every version we release is public and forkable. Our revenue comes from payments and from optional add-ons, so there is no scenario where locking the engine helps us.
What exactly does the one percent apply to?
To successful subscription payments processed through Milo Payments, on top of what your gateway charges. Failed payments cost nothing, refunds are not charged, and there is no monthly or setup fee. If you prefer your own gateway, the Any Gateway add-on lets you use it and we take nothing at all.
Do I have to use Milo Payments?
No. Subscription checkouts default to Milo Payments because that is how the free engine is funded, and the Any Gateway add-on opens the checkout to any recurring capable gateway you already run. Both paths are supported, and both are documented.
What happens when an add-on licence expires?
The add-on keeps working. You stop receiving updates and support until you renew, and nothing switches off on your customers. We think turning off software people paid for is a strange way to say thank you.
Can I move away from Milo later?
Yes, in one click, with your data intact. The same migrator that imports from other plugins can send you back. It is not a feature we advertise for fun: a system you cannot leave is a system nobody should join.
Do you offer refunds?
