Bring your subscriptions back from a hosted platform.
Leaving Chargebee, Recurly, Lemon Squeezy or a similar platform is a different exercise: there is no WordPress plugin to read. It is an export, an import and a gateway that stays where it is. Worth doing when you want the customer relationship on your own domain.

The Milo engine is free on WordPress.org. We earn one percent on payments processed through Milo Payments, and nothing at all if you keep your own gateway.
Moves with you
- Subscriptions, with their status and their history
- Next payment dates, exactly as scheduled
- Billing period, interval, trial and sign-up fee
- The customer and their billing address
- Related orders, kept linked to the subscription
Stays where it is
- Your gateway account, which is yours and stays untouched
- Saved payment tokens, when the gateway is one Milo speaks
- The old plugin, deactivated rather than deleted, until you say so

Export your subscribers and their plans from the platform, as CSV.

Ask your gateway to keep the existing payment tokens on your own account. Stripe does this between accounts on request.

Import into Milo, mapping plan to subscription product and next billing date.

Run both in parallel for one cycle, then stop the platform from charging.
Worth knowing
Billing is the one part of a store where a surprise costs money. These are the things we would want told to us.
- This one needs a hand, and we give it. Tell us what you are on and we will look at the export with you.
- The gateway matters more than the platform: if your cards live in your own Stripe account, the move is straightforward. If the platform is the merchant of record, the cards are theirs and subscribers have to re-enter them.
- That last point is the strongest argument for leaving sooner rather than later.
Try it on staging. That is the whole risk.
The migrator reads before it writes, and tells you what it found first. Nothing is deleted, and the old plugin stays installed until you decide otherwise.
