Milo Referrals
Refer-a-friend for subscriptions: referral links, renewal-discount rewards for referrers, and a welcome discount for friends.
Installation
- Install and activate the free Milo Subscriptions plugin.
- Upload and activate Milo Referrals (Plugins → Add New → Upload).
- Enter your license key under Subscriptions → Licenses to enable updates.
Configuration
Subscribers share their referral link from My Account. A signup through it rewards the referrer with a renewal discount, applied by the Subscription Coupons add-on.
Under Subscriptions → Settings → General → Referrals:

The referral area
Active subscribers see their link, and their referral count, in the Milo Referral Area block, the [milo_referral] shortcode, or automatically on the My Account dashboard. Titles and texts are editable as block/shortcode options.
How rewards apply
The friend’s welcome discount is applied as a negative fee at checkout. The referrer’s reward rides the Milo Coupons renewal engine (_milo_recurring_coupons), so it stacks cleanly with other reward mechanics and is consumed automatically on their next renewals.
Tracking
Referral visits set a 30-day cookie (milo_ref); the attribution is consumed at the friend’s first subscription checkout. Self-referrals are blocked.
Developer reference
_milo_referral_count (user meta)— Number of successful referrals per user.
